Members shared widely varying approaches to managing the crushing fatigue that comes with long COVID, with some finding relief through medications like Concerta, Nuvigil, or Lyrica, while others benefited from supplements including vitamin D, potassium, magnesium, iron infusions, or Biostrath tablets. Several members described practical strategies such as lung rehabilitation with nebulizers and breathing devices to address low oxygen levels, pacing activities in 15-minute intervals followed by rest, and using books like 'The Long COVID Handbook' to better understand the condition and explore research-backed treatments. A recurring theme was the emotional weight of living with unrelenting fatigue that many doctors struggle to address, the frustration of needing to push through daily tasks despite debilitating exhaustion, and the importance of leaning on faith, gratitude, and community support to find strength on the hardest days.

Nothing.....Absolutely nothing has helped me with my weakness and tiredness!!! Right now i'm having Iron Transfusions. Covid ruins your life and I don't believe anything will give you a decent life back!!!!

I’m sorry that so many of you are also suffering from the terrible fatigue that comes with long COVID! General practitioners seem to be at a loss on how to help us… or even believe us sometimes.

If you’d like to know more about the pathologies of long COVID - and generally what official research is being done and what other patients have found anecdotally helpful - the best book I ever read on the subject was “The Long COVID Handbook” by Danny Altmann and Gez Medinger.

There’s also “The Long Covid Self-Help Guide: Practical Ways to Manage Symptoms” by the Oxford Post-Covid Clinic (but I found the advice very basic).

Prof Resia Pretorius and her colleagues are doing ground breaking research on long COVID at her lab here in South Africa (see: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34425843/) and actually have an ongoing study that you can participate in via: https://airtable.com/shrtucasatrINAL7K.

Omg.....I understand all of you. There's times I walk from the bedroom and kitche its straight shot. By the time I get to my place I I'm totally out of breath. I really try to fight this darn fatigue. At 1st I stayed in my bed all day a nd all night. Didn't go anywhere out of the house. Yes covid has changed all our lives. At times I'm so mad with my situation. But God has saved and kept me. So I now know that I have to push my self. I know all of you have heard someone say be "happy that you are still here, so many Didn't make it." No its never Even with all my daily struggles I have to learn to be humble and thankful 🙏 On days that I won't I feel like giving up......I have a great support group of people that helps strive to make another day. Covid is so horrible to our mankind. Just don't give up.🙂
